Christian Homes Educating Children is a Christian support group for families who homeschool in Pittsylvania County and Danville, VA and surrounding areas. Our job is to help you on your homeschool journey by providing a network of people, friends, activities and advice to help your family grow and thrive as you homeschool.
We offer a monthly support meeting for moms and dads to come together and share. Well known speakers have come to encourage us at the monthly meetings. We have activities for children and teens, including field trips, monthy Teen Time, craft days, and a Winter Formal for teens. Our activities and field trips are volunteer based, as no one is forced to participate, but more involvement means more opportunities for you to get to know other homeschoolers in the community. We culminate the year with a banquet, yearbook, and graduation ceremony for seniors.
Members of CHEC pay a yearly, family rate of $35. As a member, one must agree to the statement of belief and sign a waiver of liability. A leadership team meets together several times a year to plan meetings, arrange the calendar, and set the budget for the year. Our statement of faith is written based on the Word of God and His son Jesus Christ. We are unapologetic in our desire to give God the praise and glory for our right and privilege to homeschool our children.
